Last night my sister-in-law and I thought it would be fun and a good workout to try taking a gymnastics class. I am sorry that I have NO pictures, but it is probably a good thing to spare our humiliation and embarrassment!! Now keep in mind I haven't done gymnastics since elementary school. Holy cow, is all I can say to our experience!! We were surrounded by young, energetic, barely graduated, ex- cheerleaders who were NO strangers to the gymnastics world!! So you can imagine how I felt being my age and out of practice!!
We started out by stretching which I believe Shellene and I and the three men in the class were the only one's who couldn't do the splits..... none of them (left, right, or middle.) We then all lined up and practiced cartwheels. I felt pretty good doing the cartwheels until the coach asked us to do the next cartwheels on the opposite side we were used to. Wow, is all I can say about that request... and the outcome!! It was confusing, embarrassing and I felt so silly, not to mention I looked like a complete idiot!! At that moment I was immediately regretting our decision to try out this class!! If that wasn't enough the coach then asked each of us if we would like to attempt a back handspring. I instantly become weak in the knees and wanted to runaway. I was afraid of breaking something because I was well out of practice and A LOT Older!! I stayed and attempted the back handspring and was quite surprised how quickly it all came back to me. The coach said gymnastics is like riding a bike, you may need a little practice, but it always comes back to you!! I was no Shawn Johnson, by all means with my back handsprings and back tucks, but it felt great and I felt liberated!!
I have to admit I had a lot of fun and I felt young again in a sense.... not to mention we had a lot of laughs and still are laughing about our experience!!! Just for the record for all of you who are feeling old, fragile, out of shape and want to feel young again..... gymnastics is an OPTION!!!!

One more thing, in the past I have changed my photo but this time it's not letting me no matter what I do...any ideas???? Thx
Britney, You seem like you would be so good at gymnastics! I bet you could show up all of those 'young' girls :)
All's that I can say about that is, "You are BRAVE"! That took guts girl. Good for you. And remember, we are only as old as we feel:)
Way to go with the gymnastics...you are brave! I havent even attempted a cart-wheel since I've had kids. :)
So I just have to say that hearing your guys' attempt to gymnastics is hilarious. Good for you for getting into the advanced class. You should make Shellene go back so you can show her how it's done since she had to go to the beginners@
Hey Brit...
Glad to see you posted us to your list...uhhh, one exception Tam's name is spelled wrong...not your mistake everyone thinks that extra "a" should be in there and it's not...it's supposed to be :D
Tamra...and she doesn't by Tammy either...that's why she spelled it that way so she wouldn't be called Tammy...anyway, have been praying for Hunter and checking his blog daily if not several times...glad to see he is holdind his own...take care...
This is too funn:D, I thought I had all my words right...tehe...she didn't name herself...we did...everytime I proof and post...I still find more errors after posting...lol...
Anyway, thanx for the update on changing the photo...I've done it before but it's not letting me change it this time...Again, thx :D
Man Brit---you rock! You are so tough. That's so awesome!
