mY bAby BoY iS ........ 1!!!

I cannot believe that my baby is 1 year old!! He turned one on Sunday but we celebrated it on Saturday with our families. Saturday was a lot of fun my parents and Nate's family came up for the birthday party and it was so nice to have them here on Trey's special day.

We baked most of the day on Saturday... I wanted to bake Trey's cake myself and it was a lot of work. 5 cake mixes and 4 containers of frosting later and his cake was completed. It was a Baseball cake sitting on a home plate with little baseball cupcake's. It turned out really cute!!! I am glad my mom was there to help me and give me pointers, because there is no way I could have made it without her.

After singing "Happy Birthday" and blowing out his candle, Trey tried his cake. He was the first to try the cake, the baseball was his very own, while the home plate and cupcakes were everyone else's. It was so adorable and funny seeing him dig into the cake and stuff it in his mouth. He loved it, he loved it so much that he wanted to share it with his dad. Trey got cake all over and he was so messy that we had to give him a bath before he could open his presents.

Nate decorated the house with red and blue streamers, lots and lots of balloons (Trey's favorite item), birthday banner and an inflatable baseball. Everything turned out really cute and Nate went all out and even spelled TREY'S name out of streamers down the banister.... he did a really good job!! Trey got a lot of nice things and really had fun unwrapping his presents.

It was a special day and we appreciate all of our family members who traveled to make it even more special for Trey.

We love this little guy so much!! He truly makes us smile everyday. It seems like yesterday we were in Miami, Florida bringing him home from the hospital. I cannot believe how fast time goes by and how fast my baby has grown. Looking back on the past 12 months with Trey I reminesce about:

*Seeing Trey for the first time and having him placed in my arms, what a precious little boy.
*Bringing him home from the hospital and how small he looked in his car seat.
*The transition between having a boy instead of a girl.
*His umbilical cord falling off.
*Holding his precious little hands and rocking him in my arms while he slept or nursed.
*Sleepless nights.
*Watching him sleep.
*Nursing him.
*The way he smells after a bath and being drenched in baby lotion.
*His first smile.
*The first time he rolled over.
*Sitting up by himself.
*Crawling for the first time.
*Playing and giggling with his sister.
*Sleeping through the night.
*Eating baby food for the first time.
*How excited he gets when he takes a bath.
*Getting into mischief.
*Writing on our leather couch with permanent marker.
*Pounding his chest like a gorilla.
*Dancing whenever music is turned on.
*Standing up by himself.
*Walking around the coffee table and falling over and over again.
*Taking his first steps and falling.
*His first bump on his head.
*His first Pediatrician appointment and his little tears from his shots.
*His first tumble down the stairs and how terrible I felt.
*Playing in the toilet and putting sisters shoe, blocks and sippy cup in and watching them float.
*His face light up over the simplest things.
*His little tears when his heart gets broken.
*His love for balloons.
*His first word... Dadada, then Mamama.
*Trying new foods and loving them.
*Riding in his new car seat, faced forward.
*His sweet little face whenheI wakes up in the morning.
*Seeing his little personality come out.

We have loved you since the day we saw you. You are our little sunshine and you mean so much to us!! We couldn't imagine our lives without you. We are so excited to watch you grow into a young man and even more excited to see who you become.
Trey, Happy first Birthday!!
