gOats, red bummed monkeys & Giraffes.... oH mY

On the second day that Grandma and Grandpa Johnson were in town we decided to go to the zoo. We couldn't have asked for a more BEAUTIFUL day. The weather was perfect the ice cream was wonderful and the company was the Best!!
We started the day off with a bird show... pretty amazing! Nate and I almost got our heads taken off by a red-tailed hawk that flew literally right over our heads, so low we had to duck or else we would be going home with a new hairdo! The show was funny and pretty amazing with what some of the birds could do. My favorite was the finale, they saved the best bird for last... the Bald Eagle. What a beautiful creature, quite big and a little scary, but beautiful!

Afterwards, we visited the farm animals, which was Trey's and Brookelyn's favorite part. Trey got to pet the goats and allowed one of the goats to lick his finger... gross!!

Brookelyn and I fell in love with the piglets, they were sooo darn cute. We wanted to take one home, but Nate was not having it!!

We did a lot of walking.... there was just so much to see!!

These little monkeys were pretty funny to watch for Brookelyn. She just couldn't understand "Why" their bums were red... to be quite honest, I didn't understand why either!!
We all got a kick out of this Ol' Grizzly bear. This bear would patiently sit and wait for the fresh water fish swimming around to swim close enough to him so he could snatch them up for dinner. He was a patient old bear, but unfortunately we weren't as patient as he, so we didn't get to witness his triumph.

Last but not least... The Giraffes, such beautiful animals but so unproportionally shaped!!

We had a great day at the zoo!! It was a lot of fun and we are so glad that we got to spend the day with you.... Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Brianne!!
Thanks for the amazing Grandparents and Aunt that you are. Brookelyn and Trey are so lucky to have such wonderful, loving, caring, kind examples in their lives. Thank you for always being there for each of us and for blessing our lives by being apart of them. We love you and miss you!
