It all began on March 23rd the night before the BIG day!
Here we are not knowing what is in store.
My mom had just arrived and we were all getting ready
for the exciting day ahead of us!!
Which meant for the kids, bed time and sweet dreams
and for Nate and I a long restless night
full of Excitement, Anxiety, Stress and Fear!!
I got a pretty good night sleep going to bed
around 12:30 and was up at 3:30 a.m.
to get ready to be at the hospital by 5:30 a.m.
I was up bright eyed and bushy-tailed
and very nervous but very excited
to meet my new little man!!
Here is Nate and I right before we left to go to the hospital.
When we arrived at the hospital
the fear was starting to really set in....
the UNKNOWN
can be really scary!!
We went to the 2nd floor filled out some paperwork
got our wrist bands and then went to the 3rd floor-Maternity ward.
I was taken to an amazing, enormous room with a beautiful view of Utah.
My nurse Jenny was very nice
but was wearing the strongest perfume.
I thought at one point, I was going to have to ask for a new nurse
because the smell was making me extremely nauseous!!
I put on my beautiful hospital gowned
and Jenny hooked me and my little man up to the monitors
and gave me my I.V. I had to have three bags
before I could even go into the O.R.
I received my epidural from Dr. Unice who was
awesome! I even thanked him afterwards
for it and told him he did
a great job... I barely even felt it.
I have never had an epidural
before I was always given a spinal block
so needless to say,
I was very nervous for that.
My sweet husband held me throughout
the whole process of receiving
my epidural. It was kind of neat,
considering that they have
always made him wait outside.
Having him there was
such a relief and very comforting.
As Nate and I waited for my Dr. to arrive
I talked my poor nurses ear off.
I asked her a million questions, trying
to focus on something else
other than the surgery that was awaiting me.
Finally, my Dr. arrived and off we went to the O.R. to finally meet our new little guy!!
As I was being wheeled to the O.R. I was very frightened
but as the doors opened for me to go inside
a sudden calmness came over me..
but I still was shaking uncontrollably.
While inside the room my Doctor and nurse were great.
My Anesthesiologist was really awesome too.
He made sure that I was comfortable and that I couldn't feel a thing.
Nate was really amazing as well,
he was by my side the whole time talking to me and
trying to take my mind off what was going on....
he did a pretty good job
considering he was just as nervous as I was!!!
Finally, at 7:47 a.m.
I heard the little cry that I have been longing to hear for SO long...
my handsome little man was finally here!!
Nate got some really amazing pictures
which are pretty graphic but Kru will have them
to treasure for always.
When I heard my little man's cry for the first time...
I was overjoyed, my eyes began to fill with tears.
He was finally here and I felt so relieved
that he was healthy and strong and everything went well.
Nate couldn't take his eyes off his baby boy..
he definitely was a Proud Papa!!
While the nurses took baby Kru off
to clean him and weigh him his
Daddy went with him to supervise.
While they were gone me and my Doctor's took
a bet on how big Kru was.
Doctor Nance won he said 7 something.
I thought to myself.. no way he has at least got to be 9 something
but sure enough he weighed in at 7 lbs. 15 oz.
My smallest baby yet!!!
Here we are the VERY Proud Parents with our newest bundle of Joy!!
Kru Holt Johnson
Our little man in the first hour of his life...
Here is the very Proud Daddy
and Mommy
Some of Kru's very special visitors- Grandma Lee
Grandpa and Grandma Johnson, Aunt Elise and Shellene
After staying in the hospital for
4 days and 3 nights we were finally ready to go home.
My stay was great and my nurses were
so very helpful.
Baby Kru was doing good
and eating well.
He was a little jaundice but not too bad.
I felt like I was recovering quickly
and was able to walk around the
hospital with managable pain.
The thing that I was really going to
miss the most about the hospital
besides the help was
the amazing food!!!
I absolutely loved the food...
it was delicious!!
After seeing the Pediatrician
and my Doctor Saturday morning
we were given the ok to go home.
We were discharged and on our
way home with the newest member
of the Johnson family...
our little Kru Man!!
Kru's coming home outfit- minus his pants and socks.
We are so happy to finally have Kru
here with us and we are so thankful
that he is healthy and strong.
He is such a good baby who loves to sleep
and eat.
He has us all wrapped around his little finger
especially his big sister!
We love you Kru
and we are so happy and overjoyed
that you are ours for Eternity!!
