This summer while in Lone Tree, Colorado
we were able to do some fun things
together as a family.
I love being able to spend these memorable moments
with my children and husband.
I enjoy traveling to different states
during the summers and experiencing
what each state has to offer....
here are some of Colorado's highlights!!
Denver Zoo
How cute is the baby giraffe in the background...
I have never seen a
baby giraffe before??!!
Seeing the Elephants was kind of neat because
they were so close.
I felt like I could almost reach out and
touch them.
Trey enjoyed climbing the fence
to the elephants cage which made
me a little nervous.
Our favorite animal
to see was the Orangutan.
He was so cute!!
When we arrived to his window this is what we saw.
Look at those eyes...
he just sat there, right up against
the glass with his maroon blanket wrapped around him.
We went up to the glass
and looked him square in the face
and he didn't even move an inch.
After about 5 minutes he finally got bored
and got up and walked off
with his blanket and all.
He had a hard time holding on to his blanket
while walking so he stuck it in his mouth....
While at the zoo we went to the Polar bear exhibit.
When we arrived we apparently had just missed
the polar bear snatch a bird from the water
he was swimming in and eat it....
the only thing we got to witness was the
bird's feathers all over the cage and the
bear with his back to us eating.
It maybe was a good thing we had just missed it
because that could have been too graphic
for the little one's!!
The Denver zoo was a lot of fun
and did not disappoint!!
The Children's Museum
Denver has a fun and very entertaining children's museum.
We had heard about it through several people
so we had to go see for ourselves.
There were so many different activities for the kids to do.
They had a bubble blowing room that showed you how bubbles were made. You could make huge bubbles yourself and pop them. The room was a little dangerous and slippery as a result of all the bubbles being made and popped!!
They also had an invention and building exhibit where kids could find a picture of something they wanted to build and then they went off to their own station and built it from scratch, all the supplies were provided of course.
They also had a dress up and performance exhibit where the children were able to try on different costumes and perform and dance in them.
It was a very cool and fun place for the kids to experience an array of different and exciting things to do!!
Brookelyn and Trey loved it, Kru had a good time too!!
They had a shopping center just for the kids
with baskets and carts and toy food.
All the kids lined up at the cash register
to pay for their food.
Here is Brookelyn being their cashier
right before she scanned the items
and sent it on the conveyor belt to be bagged.
This was her favorite thing to do at the museum.
There was even an area for baby Kru...
they had swings and soft bean bag chairs
for babies to sit in.
Kru was fascinated with the stuffed animals and mobile!!
There was a firetruck that the kids
